HUDSON SIDE TIPPER HOPPER WAGON for MINIATURE / NARROW GAUGE (x3) (O9 Gauge 7mm scale)

This is a 3D printed item, using a fine ABS like resin and is a complete hopper and chassis to create an O scale miniature railway Hudson "triple centre" side tipping hopper wagon (7mm / foot) running on 9mm track. It will require wheels (ideally 7mm diameter with 15mm point to point steel axles) and couplings to complete.

This was commissioned by a customer who was looking to extend his O gauge railway to include a local community railway similar to the 15" and 18" estate / mining railways of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This wagon is modelled on a Hudson hopper running on a number of light railways.

Photo 1 shows an example of the items as you will receive them to complete 3 hopper wagons. Photo 2 shows the hopper mounted to the chassis with couplings added (couplings, wheels and track are not included in the sale). Photos 3 shows the wagon coupled to one of my O9 loco bodies (also not included in the sale, but available separately).

To complete the wagon you simply need to remove smooth the lower edge of the hopper, lightly file / sand the bottom edge flat and it is ready to paint / fit to the chassis... and add the wheels and couplings (not supplied).

The chassis has slots to accept standard Peco GR-102 009 couplings (not supplied) that slot neatly into the bodywork. Alternatively, holes have been included in the chassis so that a pin and bar coupling arrangement can be implemented (not included).

Bear in mind the size of these items when looking at the detail in the photos. The wagon body is 40mm long, 27mm wide and 26mm high (with wheels fitted).

O9 scale modelling is a nice alternative to the traditional narrow gauge and can be used to create a smaller, more agricultural addition to any O gauge layout.
