WAKEFIELD No 7 LUBRICATOR (one supplied) FRONT WHEEL (5" Gauge 1/12 scale)

This is a 3D printed item, using a fine ABS like resin.

The first 4 photos are of examples of the items as you will receive them (one lubricator will be supplied). These are genuine photos taken with a full frame 35mm SLR and not a digital representation. The final photo shows the lubricator placed on the footplate of a 5" gauge 14xx to show the scale (not included in the sale).

 

You simply need to remove any remaining signs of the print supports from under the flat base, clear the holes in the hexagon fittings for the pipework (using a 1.0mm drill bit) and it is ready to paint / fit. The actuating lever on the ratchet wheel extends below the base of the lubricator so that this can be located to pass through a slot in the footplate... if you have modelled one.

Bear in mind the size of these items when looking at the detail in the photos. This lubricator main housing is 19.4mm long, 19.4mm wide and 23.3mm high (33.1mm long including the ratchet and flushing wheel).

These parts were originally commissioned in 7mm scale by an enthusiast who was distressed by the number of drill bits that were getting broken when drilling through brass or white-metal. The added bonus was the hex pipe nuts, "WAKEFIELD" wording on the ratchet and there is even the wing nut on the lid fixing!! These 5 inch gauge versions take the detail to another level.
